Terms & Rules for Posting and Commenting on this Blog
We can summarize these rules and terms in general by saying: This is a non-commercial no-fund-raising zone to have fun; be decent or we won’t put up with you any more; and what the blog administrators say goes. Details are below.
- Respectful behavior is required at all times when posting and commenting and attending chat parties in CB chat rooms. Behaving in a disruptive, disrespectul manner will be handled by ignoring you at this blog and chats from that point on, including removal of all comments, no posting of news articles, not welcome at parties, etc. We’ve only had to enforce this once, after months of disrespectful, argumentative, and mean behavior on the part of that individual. We hope never to have to do it again.
- Current blog administrators make are responsible for ongoing decisions about the content and use of this blog and related chat rooms. Their decisions have the force of rules for this blog and related chat rooms.
- This is a venue for sharing news amongst cat bloggers and having fun. This is not a venue for airing grievances against individual cat bloggers or for personal attacks.
- News of any kind may be requested to be posted. Authors, editors, and administrators may post this news at their discretion. See Guidelines for Noos here if you’re in doubt as to what types of things are most likely to get posted.
- Blog administrators may edit or delete any post or comment or other article that they believe to be in contradiction to respectful behavior, or otherwise inappropriate. Guidelines for sending news to be posted is kept on the contact page, so people can find them easily.
- If in question about the appropriateness of news, other posts, or comments, bring the item to the attention of the blog administrators at news AT catblogosphere DOT com. They will determine the ultimate fitness of the item for this blog.
- By submitting for posting, posting or displaying content (including comments) on or through this blog which is intended to be available to the members of the public, you affirm that you have copyright to do so, and you grant the blog owner a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, publish and distribute such content on this blog for the purpose of displaying and distributing this blog. I reserve the right to refuse to accept, post, display or transmit any content in whole or in part.
- We provide autolinkies in our daily noos posts so cat bloggers can find each other and announce their posts easily. Autolinkies that are not either on a cat blog (a blog primarily about cats) or linked to a post that is at least 3/4 cat related will be removed without notice.
- Advertising of fund raising and commercial advertising are not allowed on this blow with the following limited exceptions: Regular cat bloggers may request to a link to their small business put in the side bar, links to fund raising for cats may be put in the daily auto linkies, fund raising cat events may be submitted to the CB calendar.
- Illegal activity or other things that violate the web hosting terms of service will be grounds for immediately closing this blog without notice. The web host won’t give us notice if they catch it, so we can’t afford to give notice either, in the interests of keeping the web hosting intact. Once the offending item(s) are taken care of, the blog will be reopened.
- By posting or commenting on this blog, you are signifying that you agree to these terms and rules. If you do not agree to these terms and rules, simply do not post or comment.
