November is a busy month with many celebrations and special days! The holidays are getting closer and there are many deadlines for cat bloggers who want to participate in special festivities such as Secret Paws, Holiday Card Exchange, and a Holiday Slideshow. We want to urge those of you who live in the United States to get out and vote on November 6! We encourage you to support the month of November with National Pet Cancer Awareness, Adopt a Senior Pet, and Pet Diabetes by writing about these important topics on your blog. Please feel free to use any of the graphics we’ve posted on the CB when writing your posts.
November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month so let’s all do our part and share those special seniors that are looking for their forever home. It will be most rewarding for you and extra special for them. The ASPCA and petfinder.com founded Adopt a Senior Pet Month to improve the perception of senior pets as quality animals for adoptions.
National Pet Cancer Awareness Month – National Pet Cancer Awareness Month was started in 2005 by Nationwide® and the Animal Cancer Foundation™ to increase awareness and to raise funds to help combat the leading killer in pets.
Pet Diabetes Month – November is National Diabetes Month, and while this month was originally designed to increase awareness of this common endocrine disease in humans, we need to be aware of the growing prevalence of DM in dogs and cats also. Untreated, diabetes mellitus can be fatal in dogs and cats.
